肌タイプの見分け方

How to tell your skin type

Skin types diagram Oily skin

  • Features
  • This type has a high moisture content and sebum content. In particular, this type has excess sebum and is sticky. This type is common from adolescence to the early 20s. Although this type has moisture, it is prone to skin problems caused by excess sebum, such as clogged pores , open pores , and acne .

  • Care tips
  • Skin care that suppresses sebum production through careful face washing and cosmetics with firming effects. However, be careful not to use too many strong cleansing products to remove sebum, as this can also damage the skin's ability to retain moisture.

    Normal skin

    • Features

The skin has a good balance of moisture and sebum. It has a moist feel and is less prone to problems such as dryness and acne. Its barrier function is working, making it less susceptible to external stimuli, and it is in a healthy skin condition.

    • Care tips

Maintain your current skin care routine. However, your skin will change with the seasons and as you age, so be sure to monitor these changes and take appropriate care of your skin.

    Dry skin

    • Features

This type has little moisture and sebum, and is concerned about dryness due to a lack of skin's ability to moisturize itself. This condition tends to increase with age. Because the sebaceous glands are small, pores are barely noticeable, and the skin is fine-grained, but it is prone to dryness. The barrier function of the skin also tends to decrease, so care is required.

    • Care tips

Since there is a lack of oil and moisture, it is important to replenish both in a balanced manner.

    Combination skin

    • Features

This type has a large difference in areas, with the T-zone being oily and the U-zone being dry. It is common in people in their late 20s to 30s. In addition to the barrier function being weakened due to an imbalance of moisture and oil, it is difficult to control the skin quality because the skin is in two extreme conditions.

    • Care tips

It is a good idea to adjust the amount of lotion you use according to your skin condition, for example, to apply plenty of lotion to the T-zone but sparingly to the cream, and conversely, to apply more cream to the U-zone.

In "Developing a scientific method for distinguishing skin types,"

"Combination skin" has been added to the three skin classifications of "dry skin," "normal skin," and "oily skin."

    Sensitive Skin

In addition to the four classifications above, you often hear the term "sensitive skin."
    • Characteristics of sensitive skin
    1. **Itching and redness:** Your skin may become sensitive to irritation, causing itching and redness.
    1. **Tingling or stinging sensation:** Cosmetics, cleansers, and external stimuli may cause a tingling or stinging sensation.
    1. **Hypersensitivity reactions:** Abnormally hypersensitive reactions to external stimuli, including irritation caused by common products or ingredients.
    1. **Prone to dryness:** Sensitive skin is usually prone to dryness and needs proper moisturization.

    • Care tips
    1. **Proper face washing:** Use a face wash that does not contain harsh cleansing ingredients and is as gentle as possible. After washing your face, be sure to gently wipe it with a towel.

    2. **Choose gentle products:** Choose fragrance-free, non-irritating cosmetics and skin care products for sensitive skin. 3. **Moisturizing:** Sensitive skin is prone to dryness, so moisturizing is important. Use creams and moisturizers that are additive-free and have a high moisturizing effect.

    3. **Check the ingredients:** Check the ingredients list of any makeup or skin care products to avoid ingredients that may cause an allergic reaction.

    4. **UV Protection:** Sensitive skin is also more sensitive to UV rays, so when you go outside, use sunscreen and protect your skin with a hat and sunglasses.
