■About the smell
Deep inside the hair follicle are the sebaceous glands that secrete sebum and the sweat glands that secrete sweat (apocrine glands). The sweat that comes out of the sweat glands is odorless, but when it mixes with sebum and is broken down by the resident bacteria on the skin, it produces an odor.
